    Revitalizing

Revitalizing Canary Pine Trees with Our High-Performance Soil Amendments

    Challenge:
Forty-foot Canary Pine Trees were at risk of dying and toppling in high winds due to poor soil conditions. During irrigation, water failed to penetrate beyond one foot of soil depth, resulting in runoff and a shallow root system. This compromised the trees’ health and structural stability, leaving them vulnerable.

    Solution:
Our high-performance soil amendments, including water-conserving American HydroSoil™ and 75-million-year-old compost humates, were applied to improve soil structure and water retention. American HydroSoil™ was incorporated to enhance porosity, increase water infiltration, and promote deeper root growth. This allowed irrigation water to penetrate more effectively, delivering essential moisture and nutrients to the trees’ root zones.

    Results:
Within 5 months, the Canary Pine Trees showed significant improvement. Water penetration increased, fostering deeper, healthier root systems. The trees regained vigor, with improved foliage density and stability, reducing the risk of wind damage. Our soil amendments transformed the soil environment, ensuring long-term tree health and resilience.

Proven Moisture Retention with AmericanHydroSoil™ (RHA)

    Challenge:
To evaluate moisture retention performance across various soil amendments, we conducted a 95-hour comparative test measuring the percentage of water retained in treated soil samples. The goal was to determine which materials best support long-term hydration at the root zone—critical for plant health in drought-prone or sandy soils.

The test included widely used soil amendments: Green Sand, Dallas Bonsai Calcined Clay, Wollastonite, Bentonite, Biochar, Gypsum, and our flagship product, AmericanHydroSoil™ a premium-grade Rice Hull Ash (RHA) formulation.

    Solution:
AmericanHydroSoil™ dramatically improves soil structure, increases water-holding capacity, and extends hydration windows between irrigations. This not only boosts plant vitality but also reduces water waste and labor input.

Whether you manage orchards, landscapes, or tree installations, AmericanHydroSoil™ gives you the edge—restoring soil performance in the harshest conditions.

    Results:
AmericanHydroSoil™ (RHA) outperformed all other products, retaining over 68% of moisture after 95 hours—more than double the performance of Bentonite and more than three times that of calcined clay. Even Biochar, known for water-holding capacity, retained significantly less moisture than AmericanHydroSoil™ .

Other materials, such as Green Sand, Wollastonite, and Gypsum, exhibited minimal retention, with less than 20% remaining after the same period.

Dune Grass Restoration in Fort Lauderdale Using AmorphoGrow+™

    Challenge:
Coastal dune restoration in South Florida presents unique difficulties—especially in areas without irrigation infrastructure. Establishing native dune grasses under dry, sandy, and wind-exposed conditions typically results in low survival rates and unstable dune structures vulnerable to erosion.

    Solution:
To address this, we applied ODI’s AmorphoGrow+™ —a specialized amendment designed to retain moisture, support microbial life, and improve root establishment in sandy soils. Our team incorporated this blend into several miles of dune planting zones along the Fort Lauderdale coastline, where water access was limited and soil structure was extremely loose.

    Results:
The performance of the AmorphoGrow+™ exceeded expectations. Across multiple sites, dune grass survival rates consistently exceeded 90%, a dramatic improvement over historical averages. The enhanced soil moisture retention allowed the grasses to establish strong root systems, even without supplemental irrigation. Over time, we observed visible accumulation of sand along dune crests, signaling improved wind resistance and soil structure stabilization. Importantly, no dune blowouts occurred during seasonal wind and storm events.

Since AmorphoGrow+™ is made from natural rice hull ash (RHA), organic humates, and root stimulant MitoGrow™ the solution integrates cleanly into the coastal ecosystem without risk to the surrounding habitat. After three years of ongoing use, it continues to prove safe, effective, and environmentally compatible.

Texas Coastal Dune Grass Restoration Using AmorphoGrow+™

    Challenge
Coastal dune systems along the Texas coastline face ongoing erosion, slow vegetation establishment, and limited sand retention under traditional planting protocols. In Brazoria County, achieving rapid dune grass stabilization and measurable sand accretion remains critical to strengthening long-term coastal resilience and protecting shoreline infrastructure.

    Solution
Organic Distributors, Inc. implemented a one-year pilot integration of AmorphoGrow+™, an engineered root-zone enhancement treatment designed to accelerate dune grass establishment and expand horizontal root matrix development. The amendment was applied within designated test zones to support multi-species vegetative propagation, including Bitter Panicum (Panicum amarum) and Salt Marsh Hay (Spartina patens), with comparative control zones monitored alongside.

    Results
Field observations documented approximately 167% greater clonal expansion of Bitter Panicum and 67% greater establishment of Salt Marsh Hay within amended zones compared to controls. Average vegetative growth measured 8–10 inches, with approximately 2.5 feet of sand accretion observed within vegetated clusters. These results demonstrate that AmorphoGrow+™ materially enhances dune grass establishment, accelerates dune formation, and strengthens coastal stabilization outcomes.
